Du and not Des?

We deserve some chocolates
The answer kwiziq gave was: Nous méritons du chocolats!

Why is it "du" and not "des"?

The phrase in English was in fact "..we deserve some chocolate" (not chocolates)

and I believe the answer given was: '..nous méritons du chocolat !'

In this context, chocolate is an uncountable noun just as in English as we're talking about chocolate in general. So we would use the singular partitive article du (as chocolate is masculine) rather than the plural partitive article 'des'.
